Minneapolis-St.Paul Dentist With On-The-Go Tips
We live in an era where if you blink, you can miss everything. People are whirlwinds. Constantly moving, communicating, discovering and just plain busy.
Scheduling twice-yearly appointments with Northwood Dental, your Minneapolis-St. Paul dentist may be a goal you aim for- but “busy” can happen. We, of course, do not recommend skipping these appointments or ignoring any prolonged dental pain or issues you may be having. What we have done, however, is compiled a blog today with some tips for your “on-the-go” lifestyle that may have tremendous dental benefits.
One of the best inventions for those on the go is the snack. We certainly can’t always eat four-course-meals driving from A to B to Z in a day, but we can snack rather easily. Easily, does not always have to mean “unhealthily” though.
While grabbing a small foil bag full of chips or candy may be a go-to for many, try zipping up some fruits or veggies instead. Have some celery or raw broccoli on the go to not only scrub away some surface stains on the teeth but also to boost your vitamin and mineral intake.
What you choose to drink is always an essential consideration to make too. So many colas and energy drinks seem to give us the ability to make it through our hectic days that much easier. What they also do is damage the teeth over time with high levels of sugar and water. Bring along a water bottle no matter where you go to wash away unhealthy bacteria and lingering particles in the mouth.
Need more flavor? Add some cucumber or a few drops of lemon juice to spice your water up a bit. Do beware, however, of leaving a plastic water bottle in the car for too long. Utilize a reusable bottle if possible to not only do your part in saving the environment but to avoid any potential ingestion of plastics/chemicals.
Lastly, on-the-go dental care products are no new invention. Miniature tubes of paste, portable brushes, disposable flossers and more are an easy addition to any pocket, glove compartment or purse. If that seems to be too much to take inventory of, try chewing on some sugarless gum to reduce bad breath and improve saliva flow.
Do your absolutely best to keep your appointments at Northwood Dental, your Minneapolis-St. Paul dentist. For whenever you get to settle down, we will be here to help your mouth shine like never before.
